In ancient Egypt, the scarab (dung beetle) symbolised rebirth, resurrection, good luck, and fortune. It was also a sacred symbol representing the god Khepri. In Egyptian mythology, Khepri was associated with the rising sun and was often depicted as a scarab beetle pushing the sun across the sky.
